COLLEGE NEWS

Welcome back for Term 4. In this week's news Mr Alexander highlights the upcoming significant events.

GIVING TREE COLLEGE ASSEMBLY

This Friday is the Giving Tree Assembly.   Last year our community raised over $2500 in cash, $1000 in gift vouchers and loads of non-perishable Christmas food for the St Vinnies Christmas Appeal to help spread the joy of Christmas to families in need.  You're invited once again to be a part of this good news story and spread the love at Christmas by contributing the following - Cash, Gift Vouchers and non-perishables especially Christmas and celebration food. Thank you for your compassion !   If you're interested in joining St Vinnies, please visit the link below for more information.

NAPLAN – Individual Student Reports

This week, students will receive their NAPLAN results in an envelope to bring home. For boarding families, a copy will be posted. An electronic copy can be sent upon request.

The national test results represent a snapshot of a student’s achievement at a particular point in time. They are but one form of assessment used to measure students’ development and should be considered in relation to other aspects of school assessment. We are very pleased with the academic progress of our students.

Further information about NAPLAN is available on the website below. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

ACER TESTING

On Monday 10 October, all students in Years 7-10 will complete PAT Mathematics and Reading tests. PAT testing is used for pinpointing where students are in their learning journey and what is needed to help them progress. This testing will complete the data set for determining growth in these areas since Term 1, 2022. The results from the testing will not be published on student report cards, however, is valuable data for teachers for planning quality learning experiences.

Further information about PAT testing is available on the following website: https://www.acer.org/au/pat. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

YEAR 9 SURVIVOR CAMP

Our Year 9 Students thoroughly enjoyed Survivor Camp held at Ferns Hideaway, Byfield National Park last term.  Students were challenged in activities that relied on individual strengths and determination to work together as a team to achieve great results together with a good measure of fun added.  These photos offer an insight into one of the most highly anticipated camps.
