TCC News
In this week's news, Sydney and Jack present our favourite stories from the past week including Little Mermaid rehearsals in the new Performing Arts Building, and Imogen and Hugh invite us to the College's upcoming events. Thanks for joining us !
Celebrating Mothers
Join us for a special Mother’s Day Mass on Thursday the 8th of May, at 8am. Mums, Grandmothers, and the special women in our life are all invited to come along to this beautiful celebration in St Joseph's Cathedral, followed by Morning Tea in the College Restaurant.
We also invite our Boarding Mums to an Afternoon Tea in their honour on Friday 9th May at 2pm at Girls Boarding.
We look forward to seeing you there!

Laudato Si Week
Photography Competition
Entries are now open for the annual TCC Laudato Si Week Photography Competition. The college celebrates this week annually following the late Pope Francis' Laudato Si Encyclical which encourages us to reflect on the beauty and gift of Creation, our common home so as to preserve and sustain it for all people. A highlight of the week is the announcement of winners which showcases the many splendid entries from Students and Staff.
This year's theme, Creation's Beauty is an invitation to seek beauty in the both the simple and majestic - a drop of dew on a blade of grass, a glorious sunrise bathing the earth with golden radiant beams. We would love to see Creation's Beauty through your eyes. Pick up your camera and step through nature's door to wonder and awe and capture its beauty. Entries close Friday 16 May, 2025. Maximum of three entries per person and no AI entries will be accepted. There are great prizes on offer, thanks to our wonderful P&F.

Everyday Saints Teen Retreat
The NET team invite you to a special event for all students this Saturday afternoon from 3pm in the Cathedral Parish Centre. The Everyday Saints Teen Retreat celebrates the soon to be cannonised, Carlo Acutis and the arrival of his relic to Rockhampton.
Join us for this special youth event and visit the relic, explore the exhibition about Carlo's life and the amazing stories he spent his life sharing.
Please RSVP your attendance to Mrs Tanya Gill in the College Library or email the NET team at net@rok.catholic.net.au
Mass will follow from 6pm.

Internet Safe Education Parent Presentation

Tuesday 27 May
Parents and Carers are encouraged to attend our upcoming Internet Safe Education Parent Presentation to be held on Tuesday 27 May, 5pm-7pm in the College TLA. It's thanks to the wonderful initiative and support of our Parents & Friends Association that we can bring you this valuable parent session.
This Parent Engagement Session aims to support young people and their parents/carers navigate safe online practices considering the recent enactment of legislation introducing the mandatory minimum age of 16 for accounts on certain social media platforms, forming one part of a broader strategy to create safer digital spaces for everyone.
Internet Safe Education also offer supportive resources on this topic through their Cyber Safety Hub which can be accessed at any time. Please click on the link below and review the information available.
Boarding Parents, as you're most likely unable to attend, if you have any questions for our Presenter Mr Lee you would like answered throughout the presentation, please email me prior to the event: sarah.coombs@tccr.com.au
(This event will be recorded for parents/carers who are unable to attend)
