Jubilee Year Logo
You may have noticed on the cover of our College calendar the Pilgrims of Hope logo to celebrate the Jubilee Year proclaimed by Pope Francis. The theme, Pilgrims of Hope, echoes the biblical journeys of the People of God from the time of Abraham and Sarah setting out to a new land, Moses and Miriam crossing the desert to find the Promised Land and Mary and Joseph setting out for Bethlehem for the birth of Jesus. They all set out in hope knowing that God was at their side guiding and them. In this Jubilee Year, we are aware that our God still accompanies us, guides us, and supports us in our journey of life. The Jubilee Year logo takes us back to Galilee and Jesus with the disciples in the boat and guiding the journey, the journey of life.
As part of the Jubilee Year celebrations, the Diocese will receive a Relic of soon to be canonized, Carlo Acutis. Carlo is the first millennial to be made a Saint is an inspiration to not only young people but all.
For more details about the Relic visit please read the Parish Bulletin.

Vale Brother Ted Magee
Sadly, we share news of the peaceful passing of TCC’s fourth Principal, Brother Ted Magee, aged 82. Brother Ted was at TCC from 2000-2003. Brother Ted was a wonderful man who gave his life fully to the ideals of Edmund Rice and always sought to look out for those doing it tough.
His enduring legacy at TCC was the establishment of Boys’ Boarding. The complexities that surrounded this move were a huge undertaking. We know he remained very proud of this and was very pleased to see the Boys’ Boarding building that we have established in Derby St (BB had two homes prior – near Bethany Nursing Home and in Munro Home – currently the EREA Flexi Centre).
Brother Ted was employed by the Catholic Parish of Bundaberg as Stewardship Coordinator until his passing.
Please remember Brother and his family in your prayers.
Eternal rest grant unto Brother Ted, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Internet Safe Education Parent Presentation

Tuesday 27 May
Parents and Carers are encouraged to attend our upcoming Internet Safe Education Parent Presentation to be held on Tuesday 27 May, 5pm-7pm in the College TLA. It's thanks to the wonderful initiative and support of our Parents & Friends Association that we can bring you this valuable parent session.
This Parent Engagement Session aims to support young people and their parents/carers through navigating safe online practices, considering the recent enactment of legislation introducing the mandatory minimum age of 16 for accounts on certain social media platforms, forming one part of a broader strategy to create safer digital spaces for everyone.
For a plethora of resources available on this topic, visit the Cyber Safety Hub by clicking the link below.
As it is difficult for our Boarding Parents to attend, if you have any questions for our Presenter Mr Lee you would like answered throughout the presentation, please email me prior to the event: sarah.coombs@tccr.com.au
(This event will be recorded for parents/carers who are unable to attend)
Kind regards,
Mrs Sarah Coombs - Teacher and Special Projects Coordinator
