Welcome to this week's edition of TCC News. Today, we celebrate the Feast Day of St. Joseph, the Patron Saint of our College and the Rockhampton Catholic Diocese. Our hosts, Jack and Neisha, will share why St Joseph holds a special place in our hearts.

Dear Parents,
Catholic Education Diocese of Rockhampton will be hosting an event for Parents across Rockhampton on Wednesday 26 March, 6PM - 7.30PM in our College Library. Guest Speaker, Nathan Wallis, who is a renowned neuroscience educator will cover the developing and teen brains to help Parents understand the changes that are taking place and navigate successfully through these important and formative years.
"With a profound reputation as a lively and engaging speaker, Nathan uses humour and plain language to condense twenty-five years of neuroscience research into his unique ‘tell you how it is’ style."

SCHOOL STUDENT BROADBAND INITIATIVE
Do you have access to an internet service at home?
To boost education opportunities and narrow the digital divide, the Australian Government is providing up to 30,000 eligible families with school age children with no internet at home access to free nbn® until 31 December 2025 under the School Student Broadband Initiative (SSBI)
Access to the SSBI will become easier, with the announcement of a National Referral Centre that parents/carers with school students can contact directly to check their eligibility.

Griffith University is offering free tutoring sessions for primary and Middle School students (up to Year 9) to assist with reading fluency and comprehension. This week in Sports News, our Junior Girls Basketball Team will compete in next week's Grand Final, our Senior Boys make the Futsal Semi Finals and the difficult task of Netball teams selections has been completed. To read more please click on the link below.
CATHOLIC SCHOOLS NETBALL MEET
On Saturday 22 March, the College will host the first Catholic Schools Meet at the Mercy Centre. This competition will allow teams an opportunity to play games leading into the Vicki Wilson and QISSN competitions. Spectators are welcome to come and support our ‘Open A’ and ‘B’ teams as they come up against strong competition from Emmaus, St Ursulas, Chanel College and Marist College. Games begin at 8am.
