MASS OF THANKSGIVING – TENTH ANNIVERSARY OF MOST REV MICHAEL McCARTHY

CATHOLIC EDUCATION - SCHOOL FEE ADVICE
Please find in the link below the first of a series of Advice pieces, developed to inform our Catholic Education families of the new Federal Government Funding model (Gonski model) and the impact on funding for Catholic Schools. Over the coming months, further Advice pieces will be shared, with each piece building on the detail of the previous. Please take the time to read each of the Advices, to understand the impact of the changes on the funding for our school and School fees. Thank you.
COMMUNITY OF FAITH
This Saturday evening we celebrate Pentecost Sunday at our TCC Parish Mass at 6pm in St Joseph's Cathedral joining with young people from nearyby primary schools receiving their Sacraments. You're invited to join us for this special celebration. For further Community of Faith news about the upcoming Sacraments Program please visit the link.
Please note there is no Thursday Morning Mass this week in the Cathedral due to maintenance being carried out but will resume next week.

Mr Pat Egan (Deputy Principal: Mission)

DOES YOUR CHILD NEED ASSISTANCE WITH IMPROVING THEIR READING?
Parents of Middle School students (aged 14 and under) requiring extra support with reading are encouraged to sign up to participate in a free tutoring program offered by Griffith University.
The program requires students to be available for 30-minute tutoring sessions 2-3 times a week and aims to assist students who are struggling with reading.
Please see the attached flyer for more information.
Note: this service is part of a research program at Griffith University and is not managed or overseen by staff at The Cathedral College.

DOMESTIC & FAMILY VIOLENCE PREVENTION MONTH
If you've recently upgraded your smart phone and have an old mobile phone to give away you're invited to donate it to support victims and survivors of Domestic and Family Violence as part of Queensland Police's DV Safe Phones initiative. DV Safe Phones provide free smart phones to victims/survivors where their phone has been destroyed during an act of DV and they have no safe way to contact Police.
The Cathedral College will be acting as a Collection Point during the month of May. If you would like to be involved please click on the link below for how to prepare your phone. Thank you for your generosity.
