CURRICULUM
Year 12 – Change to Assessment Schedule
After consultation with students and staff, we have decided to add a 2-day Exam Block to Term 1. This has been done to give students further opportunities to get the best marks possible on their internal assessments.
Friday 22 March (Week 9) and Monday 25 March (Week 10) will now be an Exam Block. There will be one exam on each of these days (Mathematical Methods and Specialist Mathematics). The benefit is that students studying MM and SM will not miss classes due to their exam and it will also give students extra time to finalise assessments.
Please download the updated schedule. Students have been emailed a copy of the schedule.

IS YOUR CHILD READY FOR NAPLAN ?
Year 7 and Year 9 students will undertake NAPLAN testing in Week 8.
Students will need their laptop, pen or pencil and their own set of wired headphones (on 2024 stationery list). Bluetooth or wireless headphones are not compatible with the NAPLAN test browser.
To assist with preparedness, Year 7 students will participate in a practice NAPLAN session on Friday 8 March in Lesson 4. Our Year 9 core classes will be visited in the coming weeks to ensure the lockdown browser has been installed successfully on their laptops.
Please see the detailed schedule below.
Date | Test | Length | Year 7 schedule | Year 9 schedule |
Wednesday 13 March | Writing | 42 minutes + instruction time | Lesson 1 | Lesson 3 |
Thursday 14 March | Reading | 65 minutes + instruction time | Lesson 1 | Lesson 3 |
Friday 15 March | Conventions of language | 45 minutes + instruction time | Lesson 1 | Lesson 3 |
Monday 18 March | Numeracy | 65 minutes + instruction time | Lesson 1 | Lesson 3 |
If a student is absent for one or more of the NAPLAN tests, catch-up sessions will be available on Tuesday 19 March.
If you have any queries or concerns about your child’s participation in NAPLAN, please do not hesitate to contact me.
