COMMUNITY OF FAITH
Welcome back to Term 3. Our Community of Faith here at TCC is alive and vibrant with so many opportunities for young people to develop their faith. Our next TCC/Parish Mass is Saturday 22 July at 6pm and we hope to see many members of our community there to celebrate Mass with our Parish. Mass will be followed by the first Elevate Youth session, an exciting initiative of our Parish. Please visit the Community of Faith News link below for more information.
We look forward to our Boarders supplying the ministries for this week's Thursday 8am Morning Mass. Please note there will be some disruptions for the following two Thursday morning Masses with the Diaconate Ordination of Peter Doherty and Catholic Education Week Mass. CONGRATULATIONS
SPIRIT OF CATHOLIC EDUCATION AWARD
Deputy Principal: Mission, Mrs Claire Stitt is this year's state winner of the Spirit of Catholic Education Award for the Catholic Diocese of Rockhampton. Mrs Stitt will join 6 other state recipients to be recognised at the upcoming Catholic Education Week Queensland celebrations. Congratulations Mrs Stitt.

AUSTRALIAN SCHOOL BOYS RUGBY LEAGUE TEAM
Year 12 student Mutua Brown has made College history by being our first ever student to be selected for the Australian Rugby League School Boys team following the national championships held in Brisbane on the holidays. Mutua was selected as the fullback. Congratulations Mutua on this astounding success. Mutua will be in action Thursday evening representing Queensland in the U19s State of Origin match against NSW.

CONFRATERNITY SHIELD WIN
Our Girls Confraternity Team have also created history by bringing home the first Confraternity Shield to TCC winning the Grand Final against St Patrick's Mackay 14-10. To read more about the epic grand final win please visit the link below.

PARENT LOUNGE
Dear Parents,
Did you know you are able to advise the College office of your child's absence from school via Parent Lounge? This is another useful and convenient application of Parent Lounge and I invite you to review the "How to Guide" below to assist you with this. You may also like to take the opportunity to update your details should they have changed. Thank you for letting us know in a timely manner when your child will be away from school.

YEAR 10 IMMUNISATION CLINIC
The 2023 Year 10 Immunisation Clinic will take place next Tuesday 18th July. Students who have returned forms, and are receiving shots, will leave normal classes for a short period of time to attend the clinic, set up at Boys Boarding.
Also on this day, students in Year 11 who missed receiving their immunisations last year, will be able to receive their missed shots.

YEAR 9 CAMP
This year the Year 9 students will be attending an Outdoor Education Camp at Ferns Hideaway to enhance the holistic (physical, social, emotional and spiritual) development of our students.
There will be two (2) camps this year to cater for the Year 9 cohort.
Camp 1: | Year 9 Boys camp | Sunday 10 September – Tuesday 12 September |
Camp 2: | Year 9 Girls camp | Tuesday 12 September – Thursday 14 September |
The theme of the camp is TCC Survivor with the aim of providing all students with the opportunity to experience new and exciting activities in a safe, yet challenging environment. Survivor challenges will involve students working with House group members to complete a variety of activities. Camp activities include: camping, basic outdoor survival skills, canoeing, bushwalking, swimming, team building and problem solving.
Please find below a Camp Information Letter and the relevant Permission Forms. Payment must be made through Parent Lounge and forms completed and returned to the office by Friday 25August.
Year 9 students will receive hard copies of the forms and more specific details on group selections, tents/bedding, clothing and food requirements in the coming days.

myQCE Competition
The myQCE competition is here! To help you #getacademic in 2023, you could win Sony Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones or a MacBook Air to four lucky winners, and you could be one of them!
This competition is open to Queensland high school students who are in Years 10, 11 and 12 with access to the Student Portal.
