THE CATHEDRAL COLLEGE NEWS WEEK 10
END OF TERM
Today is the last day of classes for Term 2. We hope everyone enjoys their holidays and we look forward to welcoming all students back for Term 3 on Monday 10 July.
CONGRATULATIONS
This week marks a very special milestone for our College Chaplain Fr Peter Tonti who celebrates 20 years of being a priest. We will celebrate with Fr Peter at the Priests' Jubilee Mass, tomorrow at 8am in St Joseph's Cathedral where we will also congratulate and give thanks for the faith filled service of Fr Bill Senn, Fr Jomon Poothara and Fr Peter Connor celebrating their 10, 15 and 60 years of priesthood respectively.
We thank Fr Peter, Fr Bill, Fr Jomon and Fr Peter Connor for their devotion to the Church and pray for God's richest blessings as they continue in their mission of spreading Christ's message of love and hope.

COMMUNITY OF FAITH
This Thursday we look forward to welcoming our Middle School students to the Year 7-9 Retreat held at Boys' Boarding. These special opportunties offer students time to nurture their faith through activities, discussion and reflection.
In this weekend's Gospel reading for the 12th Sunday in Ordinary time, Jesus encourages his apostles in their journey of discipleship ahead, imploring them not to be afraid as he will stand by them and advocate for them before the Father. This reassuring message is for us too who believe and carry on His mission today.

God Bless,
Mrs Claire Stitt (Deputy Principal: Mission)

As part of Catholic Education Week celebrations, Ryan House will be hosting a High Tea, in support of Mercy Works, on Saturday 29 July 2023, commencing at 2pm in the Mercy Centre here at TCC. Spend a perfect afternoon with your family and friends enjoying the entertainment including a multi-draw raffle whilst being served a delectable High Tea by the students of Ryan House. Book your tickets via the link provided.
A NICE CUP OF TEA
Dear Parents,
Help brew a little goodness for young people in Australia, Papua New Guinea, and the Philippines who suffer extraordinary hardships through poverty and disadvantage.
You’re invited to donate a Multi-Draw Prize for our Ryan House High Tea in support of Mercy Works to help our students serve up some much needed love.
Just like a nice cup of tea, your gift will bring comfort and not only make a difference in young lives today but promote a sense of social justice in the future leaders of tomorrow.
In our faith based community we all experience fullness of life when responding in love to the needs of those less fortunate, and this is made possible through Mercy Works.
Mercy Works is the Ministry of Sisters of Mercy of Australia and Papua New Guinea and at TCC we’re blessed to inherit their life-giving charism. Ryan House is named in honour of Sr Andrina Ryan who was the last Sister of Mercy, Principal of The Range College and who passed away in 2020 after a life of service to Catholic Education, and Catholic Health and Aged Care.
Please contact the College today if you would like to find out more or to donate your Prize. Thank you for your amazing generosity.
Mrs Leonie Wanchap: Ryan House Dean
